The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, March 12, 2012, of John Gallant, of Summerside, aged 55 years. Born in Goose Bay, Labrador, he was the son of the late Andrew "Andy" and Elizabeth "Betty" (McDonald) Gallant. Survived by his brothers Andy (Henrietta) Gallant, Summerside; Dave (Noreen) Gallant, Bonshaw; brother-in-law Richard Hopkins, Caledon, Ont.; nieces and nephews Andy Jr. (Charmaine) Gallant; Doug (Corinna) Gallant; Coralee (Tim) Boileau; David Jr. Gallant; Chris (Chrissy) Gallant; Lisa Gallant; Angela (Martin) Bamford; and by several grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Theresa "Terri" Hopkins. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
