Gloria Dawn Gallagher 82 years of Southampton, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in the South Cumberland Community Care Center, Parrsboro. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the Late Harry Victor and Adelyn (Walters) Langille.
Born in Springhill, she was educated in the Springhill Schools and a graduate from Highland View Hospital Nursing School in 1952 as a Registered Nurse. She was employed at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, on the maternity ward for many years. She was a member of Southampton United Church and UCW.
She will be sadly missed by sons, Chris (Valerie) Gallagher and Mike (Lisa Henry) Gallagher both of Southampton; daughters, Heather Gallagher-Rowe, Grande Prairie, AB and Valerie (Gregg) Matthews, Parrsboro; brother, Gerald (Anne) Langille, Victoria, BC; grandchildren, Corey and Cristin Gallagher, Ryan, Alex and Liam Matthews; great grandson Ethan Gallagher.
She was predeceased by her husband Chester Layton Gallagher; infant daughter Margaret in 1957; son- in-law David Rowe.
Arrangement have been entrusted to the care of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation will be held from 7 to 9 pm Thursday, March 15, 2012. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 16, 2012 from the Southampton United Church, with The Reverend Elizabeth Davies officiating. Burial in Southampton Cemetery.
