It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of our son and brother, Steve, on Jan. 4, 2012 in Costa Rica, where he lived.
Steve leaves behind his parents, Gloria and Gilbert Walker of Greely; brother, Kevin (Christine Styles) of Kingston and sister, Marjorie (Steve MacDonald), of Pembroke.
He was predeceased by brother, Bruce in 2007.
Steve will be forever missed by his extended family and friends, both across the continent and in Costa Rica. Steve was known internationally for his art work, which touched the lives of many with its simple beauty and realism. Steve will also be missed by the many people whom he never met — those who followed his career and felt connected to him because of his artwork and the sense of understanding and acceptance it brought to their lives.
A memorial mass was held on Feb. 25, 2012 at our Lady of Visitation parish, Ottawa, Ont. with a private inurnment in the spring.
Norma, Betty and Vicky travelled to Ottawa representing the Walkers, to be with Gib, Gloria and family.
