Elva Stacey, passed away peacefully January 22nd, 2012, at her home in Pouce Coupe, B.C.
Elva was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, on July 14th, 1923. She came to Pouce Coupe in 1929, where she resided all of her life. She worked in the B.C. Government Agent’s office, until her retirement. Over the years, she curled, golfed and traveled the world with many of her friends. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She believed that when you smile, the world smiles with you and her favorite greeting was “Hi Ho everyone!”
She lived a very active life being involved in all of the Community events. Just to name a few, she was a member of the Seniors Society, Christ Church Anglican, Peace River Haven Society, Museum Society, and served on Village Council. Elva was the last surviving member of her six siblings; the original Dalzell/Stacey family.
She is survived by ten nephews and nieces, plus their families; two sister-in-laws Gladys Dalzell and Florence Stacey; two godchildren and many, many friends.
Pastor Brent Neumann officiated at a “Celebration of Life” on February 20th, 2012, in Christ Church Anglican, Pouce Coupe, B.C., The inurnment was held at the Riverview Cemetery Columbarium. Everyone had a chance to reminisce and enjoy a delicious luncheon served by the ladies at the Senior Citizens Hall.
