JANES Dorothy (Macdougall) (nee Ryan), passed away on June 10, 2007. She is predeceased by two loving husbands, John (Jack) Macdougall (1976) and Robert (Bob) Janes (1997), and brothers, Jim and David Ryan. She will be remembered with love by daughter, Sandy (Henry) Meyer, son, Rob Macdougall, and three cherished grandchildren, David (Kerry), Michael (Courtney) and Meghan (Richard) Gammon. Dorothy was born in Londonderry, N. Ireland and enlisted with the British Army Auxiliary Territorial Service in June, 1940 and was discharged as a Sergeant in December, 1946. In February, 1947, she came to Canada to marry Jack and they raised their two children in N. Burnaby. In 1974, Dorothy and Jack moved to Kamloops and in 1987, Dorothy returned to the coast to start a new chapter in her life with Bob. Dorothy was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Zarah Temple #72, and enjoyed her years of association with the International Order of Job's Daughters, where she served as Grand Guardian of British Columbia from 1974 - 1975, and was a Past Guardian of Bethel #34 and Member of Honour of Bethels #34 and #47. A warm, generous and good-hearted woman, she will be remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at Fraser Heights Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
