It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilliard Sheppard announce his passing on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, at the age of 85 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his five sons: Scottie (Ruby), Ontario, William (Olive), Cox’s Cove, David, Ontario, Gord (Violet), British Columbia and Everette, Ontario; daughter-in-law Hilda Sheppard, Ontario; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Avis White, Trout River; sisters-in-law: Madeline Sheppard, Cox’s Cove and Isabelle Sheppard, Bonne Bay; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Jane Sheppard; sons: Reginald and Bob; granddaughter, Michelle; parents, Thomas and Maria Sheppard; brothers: Henry, Eli, Edwin, Arthur, George and Tate; sisters: Pearl, Mabel and Vangeline. Friends may visit Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Cox’s Cove, on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 13th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Crane officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church Memorial Fund.
