Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on March 17, 2012, Mr. John Joseph Whiteway of St. Julien's, NL, in his 84th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children Edward (Bonnie), Lillian (Edward), Phyllis, Anne (Wayne), Joan, Gordon (Laverine), Rose (Kevin), Kenneth (Regina), Daphne (Dwayne), Sharon (Roy), and Cora (Jeff); sister Nora (Timothy) McGrath; grandchildren Karen, Bobby, Dwayne, Daisy, Diane, Andrew, Andrea, Sylvia, Nicole, Chelsea, Julie, Jason, Jarvis, Blair, Desmond, Jessica, Kendra, Amy, Candace, Chanda, Valerie, Adrian, Sydney, Cameron, and Jackson; 18 great-grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Maude, son Kevin Whiteway, mother Agnes Whiteway, father George Whiteway, sister Bridget Whiteway, brother Ignatius Whiteway, and son-in-law Leo Alyward. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony and continued at the St. Williams Roman Catholic Church in St. Julien’s from where the funeral mass followed at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20 with Fr. Anthony Nwaohiri officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
