Celeste Blodgett, 72, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the home of her son in Bath, Maine. The cause of death was complications due to cancer.
Celeste was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Prince Edward Island. She was the daughter of Joseph and Theresa McQuaid. Her family moved to Maine when she was in high school.
She was married to Joseph Blodgett of South Portland in 1987. He passed away in 1997. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Portland and a member of the Women's Auxiliary for the Amvets Post 25.
Celeste is predeceased by her father, Joseph W. McQuaid, and her sister Annette Lutz of Barnsboro, Penn.
She is survived by four sisters, Matilda Giobbi, Virginia Doherty, Karen Nappi and Judy Drew. She also leaves behind her mother Theresa McQuaid Ward of Florida; two children, Kandi-Lee Hoy of South Portland and RJ Brent Levesque of Bath; four grandchildren, Leslie Hoy Robinson, August Levesque, Jason Hoy and Christopher Hoy.
A memorial service was held at Saint Mary's Church, Bath, on Feb. 28, at 2 p.m.
