REES, Kathleen – Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, Leonard A. Miller Centre on Thursday, December 10, 2009 Kathleen Rees (nee Pottle) aged 93 years, long term member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association. Predeceased by her husband Angus and three sisters Nina Smith, Florrie Mills and Allison Pottle. Leaving to mourn three brothers: Reuben, St. John’s; Oliver, Salem, New Hampshire; and Lester (Viola), Salmon Cove; two sisters Anne Watson, Toronto and Lavinia Rees, St. John’s and longtime friends Beatrice and George Wadland, St. John’s. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Saturday, December 12, from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, December 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
