In Loving Memory of Marilyn Ann King May 30, 1952 - July 3, 2007 We are very sad to say goodbye to Marilyn, beloved partner of Kirk Davies. Marilyn will also be missed by her daughter Nadine Torchia, son-in-law Todd and grandchildren Anna and Tano. She also leaves behind her mother Ida, Brother Wayne (Georgette) sister Linda Ducharme (Darryl) and nieces and nephews Marnie, Joel, Gabriel, Louis and Jessica. Kirk's family near and far, her good friends Tracy and Larry Lee and Nadine's father Eugene Podworniak will also sadly miss Marilyn. Marilyn was predeceased by her father Stewart King (1968). Marilyn was born May 30, 1952 in Regina, Saskatchewan and her family moved to Winnipeg when she was 7 years old. In Winnipeg she worked at the Greater Winnipeg Gas Company/ICG for many years. She and Kirk moved to Kamloops in 1997 and she worked at Convergys for 5 years. Because she was easy going and accepting of others, she had a colorful circle of friends. Marilyn lived life to the fullest, in her busy life she enjoyed motorcycle trips with Kirk, trips with family and friends, and experienced great pleasure from her two grandchildren. She was the best hostess, cook and friend. She enjoyed the company of friends and family for great dinners with great food, good red wine and a little Patsy Cline thrown in for good measure. Marilyn loved to run, walk and work out at the gym, anything to keep her fit and going places. As she wished, she passed away peacefully, at home with her family, after a hard fought battle with cancer. A celebration in honor of Marilyn's life will take place at HooDoo's in Sun Rivers at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and generosity.
