Kathleen Dwyer
Kathleen "Kay" Dwyer, 100 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Wolfville she was a daughter of the late Lewis & Margaret (Fraser) Sullivan.
Kay worked for Banney Nelson's Bakery for many years before working at R.B. Dickie School as a janitor. Kay was not a home body, she enjoyed going out for wings at Teazer's and the Elm Tree.
She will be sadly missed by her special granddaughter, Juanita Noiles (Mike) of Amherst; great granddaughters, Jessie Lynn Hicks of Amherst; Natasha Noiles, Alice Noiles of Amherst, great grandson, Michael of Amherst; daughters, Joan Livingston of Edmonton, AB, Sadie Banks of Amherst; granddaughter Bonnie Lake of Amherst, grandson, Issac Crossman of Amherst; great granddaughters Ashley & Amanada; great great grandchildren Faith & Shaymis.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter; granddaughter, Stephanie Banks; sisters, Beatrice & Gladys; brother, Walton.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS. As per Kay's wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in the Amherst Cemetery at a later date.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy of Canada, or to the charity of choice.
