COCHRANE, Grace Ella — 83, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2012 in Dykeland Lodge. Born in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Pearl (Caldwell) Lowthers. She was a member of the Windsor United Church, a long time member of the UCW and a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics for many years. Grace loved to knit and shop and her favourite pastime was working in her flower garden. She also loved cats, in particular, Marbles, her visiting feline neighbour. Surviving are her daughter, April (Robert) MacDonald, Halifax; granddaughter, Megan MacDonald, Montreal; sisters, Mabel Caldwell, Windsor and Ruby Wile, Windsor; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, brothers, Sydney, Samuel, John and two in infancy Reid and Frank; sisters, Ruth and Julia. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral Service was held 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012, in the Windsor United Church, King Street, Windsor. Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. Interment was in the Maplewood Cemetery. A very special thanks to Hattie Spencer, a good friend and neighbour. Special thanks also to the wonderful staff at Dykeland Lodge who cared for Grace for the past four years and to Dr. Wile, Dr. Kasina and Dr. Enright.  Donations in memory were requested to be made to the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter, Dartmouth, NS, the Alzheimer Society of NS or to a charity of choice.  Online condolences may be sent by clicking on “Sign Guest Book” at www.lindsaysfuneralhome.com
