Randal Davidson

Date de naissance : 19 octobre 1952

Lieu de décès : Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada
Date de décès : 2 avril 2012

DAVIDSON - Randal (Randy) was born Oct. 19, 1952 to John and Alice Davidson of Simmie. After several operations in the last 6 months & fighting a courageous battle, Randy passed away April 2nd at Cypress Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Randy was raised on the farm southwest of Simmie. He attended school in Simmie and Shaunavon. Other than helping out on the farm, his first job was working for the CPR for a short time before starting to stucco for "Lines Masonry" at the age of 18. The crew was recognized as Herbie's Hippies. Randy made this his 40 year career stuccoing many buildings in SW Saskatchewan. In the winter Randy could be found making and maintaining the ice in both the skating and curling rinks in Simmie. When Randy wasn't working he was usually found fishing at Duncairn Dam both summer and winter. People used to say that once Randy drove on the ice it was safe for everyone else to walk on. He had a great love for animals. Randy never married or had children but always had time to spend with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brother Darvin of Simmie, sisters Bonnie (Wilfred) Funk and Cindy (Kim) Selanders of Swift Current, brothers-in-law Dick Stenhouse of Portreeve & Marvin Fuller as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was predeceased by his father John (1988), mother Alice (2004), his sister Brenda Stenhouse (2007) and sister-in-law Karen Davidson (2007). A celebration of his life was held at Simmie Hall Monday April 9th. Through his trial of illness, his spirits were always high and every day he would say (write) something to make us laugh. A few days before his passing he wrote on his board "I fought the fight". He truly did! The family would like to thank everyone involved in Randy's care at Cypress Regional Hospital over the last 3 months and also to everyone involved at St Paul's & Royal University in Saskatoon. Also thank you to Home Care staff. Donations in memory of Randy may be made to Simmie Recreation Board or SPCA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.
