WHITTAKER, GLENN PARKER - Surrounded by his loving family the death of Glenn Whittaker, husband of the late Carol (Reed) Whittaker occurred on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Turnbull Nursing Home. He was born on June 27, 1924 in Hoyt Station to the late Francis and Lucinda (Withers) Whittaker. Glenn worked as a salesman, heavy equipment operator, in Forestry Industry and was a GM for Mazda in Halifax. Glenn loved bowling and camping and spent the winters in Florida. He was a member of the River Valley Wesleyan Church. He received a volunteer award for his service to the River Valley Food Bank. Glenn is survived by his daughter, Susan Burger (Ron) of Sussex; grandchildren: Phillip (Sarah), Dee Dee (Mark), Heidi, Eric and Heather; brothers: Eldon (Margaret), Ralph (Arlene) and Donald; step-son, Dr. James Calvin (Sadie) of Chicago, IL; son-in-law, Paul Brown; aunt, Grace Mason and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Glenn was predeceased by sons: Phillip and Nelson; daughters, Bonnie and Carol; brothers, Morris and Lloyd and sisters: Margaret Holsworth and Mary Graham.
Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from River Valley Wesleyan Church, 45 Ridge Way, Grand Bay-Westfield on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the River Valley Wesleyan Church or the River Valley Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
