It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Sarah Snow, age 94, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, on Monday, April 9, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital.
Mary was a longtime resident of Wesley Street in Sydney and a recent resident of Taigh Solas at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Rose Blanche, N.L., Mary was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ella (Styles) Richardson.
She worked for many years at Anderson’s Fish Market and later at Healey’s Convenience Store, both in North Sydney.
She was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion branch 12 ladies auxiliary in Sydney and a former member of Club 55 and also a volunteer with the Canadian Blood Services.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Kathleen ‘Kay’ (Pat) Hayes, North Sydney, Joanne Story, Thunder Bay; and son, James MacEachern, Kitchener; step-children, John (Sheila) Snow, North Sydney, and Phyllis (Terry) Murphy, East Bay; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Violet Vouden, Montreal; also by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Clayton MacEachern, her second husband, John Snow, sisters, Maude, Margaret and Shirley and brothers, Charles and Ralph.
Visitation for Mary will be held from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church Fund.
