ALEXANDER LAMONT

ALEXANDER LAMONT

June 8, 1929 ~ April 7, 2012
Our hearts are sad and empty as we announce the loss of a much loved husband, father and grandfather. He died at home in North Vancouver with his wife Sheila beside him.
Born in Montréal, Al was transferred to Vancouver in 1964 by Thomas & Betts Canada to take over from the agent. He developed the company in B.C. and eventually Alberta and retired in 1991 as Vice President. He retired to Hopkins Landing on the Sunshine Coast and continued to travel. Al loved the West Coast and always said there was no place like home. After a stroke in 2010, he and Sheila decided to spend the winters in North Vancouver as Al had difficulty walking. Our home in Hopkins, where we spent nearly 20 years, was our comfort zone. We had hoped to go back for the summer.
Al is survived by his wife Sheila; three sons, Douglas (Nicole), Grant (Caroline) and David (Helen); and three grandchildren, Mahon, Carly and Caleigh. His two nieces Doreen (Randy) King of Montréal and Sandra Lee (Glenn) Stone of Calgary had a special place in his heart. Al has many cousins in Montréal, Toronto area, Ireland, England and Australia and always kept in touch. Loved and greatly missed always.
Memorial service to be held Saturday, April 21, at 1pm at Gibsons United Church.
