Margaret Thompson

THOMPSON, MARGARET - Mrs. Margaret Laura Thompson, wife of the late Benjamin Thompson of Old King George Highway, Miramichi passed away early in the morning on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the age of 88. Born in Fairfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Nellie (Mitton) Fillmore. In her early years, Margaret was a secretary and bookkeeper. She was also a graduate of Mount Allison Ladies College. Margaret was a member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and former member of the C.W.L. She is survived by six daughters: Patsy (Pat) Ross of Manotick, ON; Florence (Doug) Murray of Miramichi; Carol (Rick) Black of Miramichi; Shirley (Harry) Gallant of Miramichi; Roberta (Paul) Gallant of Quispamsis and Mary (Paul) Buckley of Miramichi. As well, a sister, Florence Estabrooks of Sackville; a brother, Thomas Fillmore of Sackville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she is pre-deceased by two sisters, Jean Wright and Dorothy Palmer and three brothers-in-law, James Wright, John Palmer and Floyd Estabrooks.
Mrs. Margaret Thompson is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, with visitation on Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 10am with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Interment will be in St Mary’s Cemetery at a later date. In her memory, donations made to St Mary’s Restoration Fund or to the C.C.U. Miramichi Regional Hospital would be appreciated.
