Edith Adele Rackham
The death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, with family by her side, of Edith Rackham, of East Royalty and formerly of Wheatley River, in her 79th year.
Edith was the beloved wife and lifelong partner, for almost 60 years of Robert Rackham; treasured mother of Debbie MacKay (Bruce), Wheatley River and Mark; and the foster mom of Bobbie Broome, Charlottetown. She was the dear sister of Pauline MacLean (Henry), Stratford; and sister-in-law of Eunice Waddell, Crapaud. Edith will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Krista McIsaac (James), Rusticoville and Nathan MacKay (Vickie), Wheatley River; great-grandchildren, Anna Lucassie, Mackayla Cox and Nolan and Duncan MacKay; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Laura (Mallet) Matheson; and her brothers, Herbert Matheson (Frances) and Emerson Matheson (Marion).
Visitation will be held at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, on Friday, April 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Central Queen's United Church, Hunter River, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment in Wheatley River United Church Cemetery.
