BENNETT, GORDON - With sadness the family announces the passing of Gordon Joseph Bennett, loving husband of Elsie (Rightmyer) Bennett, which occurred on Wednesday, April 11, 2011 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born 1941 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Lizotte) Bennett. Gordon served in the RCAF as an Air Frame Tech and was a member of RCL Branch # 69. He loved hunting, fishing, darts and poker. Besides his wife Elsie, he is survived by his son Charles (Crystal) of Sussex; daughter Terri (Matthew) of Saint John; son-in-law Kevin Spence and daughter-in-law Rose Marie Poirier; brother Frank (Barbara) of Grand Bay-Westfield; grandchildren Michael (Meghan), Erik (Magda), Scott, Travis and Shannon; great-grandchildren Javin, Drew and Reid. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers David and James Bennett.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Tribute to a Veteran Service to begin at 6pm.
