Our beloved sister Rita Gaudet passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Stewart Memorial Hospital, Tyne Valley, after having suffered a debilitating stroke at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, N.S., in September 1996. Rita was born on July 12, 1958, in Brantford, Ont., to her late parents Ernest and Claudia (nee Gallant) Gaudet. She will be greatly missed by her brothers and sister Ernest of Brantford, Ont., Joanne (Bill) Webber of Paris, Ont., Richard (Joyce) of Ottawa, Robert (Eileen) of Brantford, David (Donna) of Brantford, as well as her aunts and uncles, but especially by her Uncle Richard and Aunt Noella of Wellington and her cousin Betty of Summerside; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Rita was predeceased by her sisters Mary, Lorraine, Rose, her brother Austin, sister-in-law Sharon and brother-in-law Reginald. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Saturday, April 14, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church Cemetery, Egmont Bay. There will be no visiting hours by family request. Memorial donations in Rita’s memory to the Stewart Memorial Hospital or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
