Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Terrace early on Sunday, April 22, 2012, in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of Mary (nee Meiklejohn) for 69 years. Devoted father of Robert (Doreen) of Elora, Patricia of Stratford, P.E.I., and Douglas of Palmerston and daughter-in-law Mary of Belwood. Loving grandfather of Trevor (Tammy) of Elmira and David (Debbie) of Hawkesville. Great- grandfather of Maggie, Annie, Emily and Kayla. Predeceased by his parents, Daniel F. Sargent (1948) and Mary (nee Rea) (1988), as well as his brother Rea (1971). Jack will be fondly remembered by his cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many many friends.
Jack operated the family farm at Belwood for several decades and ran school buses in West Garafraxa for 30 years. He served at St. John’s United Church, Belwood, all his life.
Visitation for Jack will be held at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus, on Wednesday, April 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at St. John’s United church on Queen St. in Belwood on Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m.
