RONEY: Emily Georgina Roney (Nee: Robertson), age 85, of Swift Current, Sk. passed away April 22, 2012 at the Regina General Hospital. At Georgina's request there was no formal service. Georgina was born in Limerick, Sk. on February 14, 1927. She was married to Earle Roney in Imperial, Sk in 1946. They couple lived there until 1965, when they moved to Swift Current. Georgina work at the local Sears Store for many years making long lasting friendships. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Swift Current. Georgina was also known as Gina, G.G. and Grammy G. Truly a one of a kind lovely woman, she loved generously and fearlessly, doing everything with class and perfection. She was a proud gardener and fought many battles with pesky squirrels, a beautiful voice, that we had hoped to hear for years to come. Great sense of humour with a wonderful laugh. She was also a true Canadian sports fan, dedicated to curling, figure skating, hockey and football, active in curling and bowling as well. Most of her favorite times were spent with her "bff" and soul sister, Eva. Participating in the Imperial Centennial Reunion, Georgina was happy to rekindle past friendship and family relationships. We are sad and not prepared to say goodbye, yet at peace to know she will be reunited with loved ones gone before. Georgina is survived by her son Milt (Joanne); granddaughter, Lindsey (Paul) and their sons Owen and Heath; Hannah (Guy) and their daughter Ruby; best friend Eva and many family and friends in Imperial and Swift Current. She was predeceased by her husband Earle; son Wayne and brother Murray. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. North, Saskatoon Sk.
