Mary Petitpas
Mary Petitpas, age 70, of Stellarton, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, NS.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of Minto and Hester (Nolan) Cochrane.
Mary was a stay at home mother. She was devoted to her five sons and many others who thought of her as their second mom. Mary was active in the St. Bruno, QC community as a president of the Lioness Club and the Ladies Bowling League. She also was a dedicated member of Parent/Teacher School Committees for many years. When you “Think about it…” Mary will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, caring ethic, unique sense of humor, and true joy of living.
Mary is survived by her husband Wayne Petitpas, Stellarton, NS; five sons: Stephen, Montreal, QC; Wayne (Teresa), Longueuil, QC; Charles (Stacey), Livonia, MI; Randall (Kelly), Georgetown, ON; Marc (Jodi), Burlington, ON; two sisters, Georgie (Moe) Morhardt, Winsted, CT, Saundra (Sterling Bond) Cochrane, Trenton, NS; one brother, George (Carol) Cochrane, New Glasgow, NS; eight grandchildren: Marissa and Madeline Petitpas, Livonia, MI, Sean and James Petitpas, Georgetown, ON, Sebastien and Audrey Petitpas, Burlington, ON, Jordan and Eva Petitpas, Longueuil, QC, and many special nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her loving parents, Minto and Hester, father and mother-in-law Gerald and Ida Petitpas, Pictou, NS; sister Patsy (Harold) Grover, Tantallon, NS; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Lorraine Green, Alysford, NS; brother-in-law Raymond (Mary) Petitpas, Timberlea, NS, and dearly missed niece Amanda Cochrane, Trenton, NS.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Sick Children’s Hospital of your choice.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Homes, Dartmouth, NS.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Stellarton, NS at a future date.
