It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy (Fagan) Morrison, 79, of Dominion. Dorothy passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, with her loving family at her side.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Hennessey) Fagan and longtime partner of the late Johnny McBride.
Dorothy was a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul for over 20 years playing her part in helping countless people. She was well known for her loyalty, sense of humour and outgoing personality. She took great joy in spending time with family and friends.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her three children, Diane (Doug) Tallack, Peter and Charles; sisters, Kay Martin, Mary (Chan) Gillis, Charlotte; brother, Hubert (Connie); three cherished grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn are Sharon McNeil and too many other great friends to name.
Besides her parents and longtime partner, Dorothy was predeceased by brothers, John, George, sisters, Margie Holland and Shirley Hall.
Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother as well as a true friend. She will be sorely missed and was loved by those who knew her.
In honoring Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul at Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport.
