Words cannot express the sadness and pain felt by the passing of my loving mom Sheila, at my home, on May 5, 2012. Surrounded by many special family members and friends she fought an amazingly difficult but short battle with pancreatic cancer. Her strength, courage, and determination was a true inspiration to us all. Her bravery shown will never be forgotten. It was so obvious her family was her first love, however, bingo was her second.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Payne) Melnick.
She is survived by her best friend Charl, dear son Shane, devoted daughter Charlene, special son-in-law Kevin, and dearly loved grandsons, Brad, Jordan and Colby, her “little Poopski Whoopski” whom will never forget her, I promise. She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends, and bingo buddies. Now she is finally at peace with her parents, sister, and little brother.
Visitation will be held Monday May 7 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to be held in St. James Cemetery, Gardiner Mines.
