Charles Brown
It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Robert Brown age 64 of Amherst announce his passing on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Richard and Ruth (Kizer) Brown.
Charlie worked for the Town of Amherst Public Works for 21 years before retiring in 1993 and in his younger years he worked for Elliott’s Amusements.
In 1989 Charlie and his wife Linda and close friend Inez Moore started the Alzheimer’s Support Group in Amherst.
He enjoyed hockey and was an avid fisherman.
Charlie will be sadly missed by his wife Linda (Murphy) Brown, 1 daughter Ruth Anne Brown of Laduc, AB, 2 brothers Richard (Diane) Brown of Amherst and Ken Brown of Halifax, 2 sisters Bonnie (Raymond) St. Peter and Kathy (Darryle) Smith both of Amherst, 2 grandsons Justin (Alyssia) Tower and Charles (Melanie) Tower, his great granddaughter Hannah (his little princess) and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by a brother Ronnie, 1 nephew David Brown and 2 nieces Sherri St. Peter and Rona Brown.
As per Charlie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorial donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
