William "Bill" Hurley

HURLEY, WILLIAM "BILL" J. - The passing of William “Bill” Joseph Hurley of Fredericton occurred Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born at Hanwell, NB on February 1, 1932, he was a son of the late Alfred and Nellie (Hartney) Hurley. For many years Bill worked in the woods and later at the Fish Hatchery in Kingsclear, NB. He also drove Taxi and prior to his retirement he worked for the City of Fredericton. Bill enjoyed hunting, yard sales and playing cards. he especially enjoyed buying and selling small engine lawn equipment. Bill is survived by his sister Margaret Wasson of Moncton; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by a very special friend, Queenie Dougherty.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Wednesday, May 9 from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 P.M. with the memorial service being held from the funeral home chapel. Father Monte Peters will officiate. Interment to follow in St. Ann’s R.C. Cemetery, Kingsclear. Memorials to the NB Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
