Surrounded by family, the death occurred of Gerard Ronald McCarthy age 86 on April 30, 2012 at Kelowna General Hospital, Kelowna B.C.
Born in Brockton, PEI, son of Eugene McCarthy and Angeline (O'Meara) and beloved husband of Marion (Beaton).
He is survived by sisters Margaret Coffin, Dorval, Quebec and Mary Butler, Glengarry, PEI and brothers Louis Brockton PEI; James Alberton, PEI; Arch(Helen) Charlottetown. Also leaving behind his loving family from Kelowna B.C., son, Grant Davidson, daughter-in-law Claudia (Tripp) and grandchildren Kate, Emily and Dillon.
Gerard also has numerous nieces and nephews from East to West coast who mourn his passing.
He was predeceased by his sister Georgie (Collum), BC, and brothers Charles, B.C. and Albert Brown, Boston.
A memorial service was held in Kelowna on May 5 with many family and friends attending. A funeral will be held at Clearwater B.C., June 2, 2012,
where he and Marion lived on their farm for many years.
