ILLERBRUN: Marjorie Isabel, age 78 years, of Swift Current, SK passed away Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Palliser Regional Care Centre. The funeral service celebrating Marjorie's life was held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the First United Church with Reverend Bonita Chad officiating. Music was provided by Arlene Olson on the piano and a solo was sung by Barb Mirau. Granddaughters, Dawna Funk and Calli Illerbrun read the eulogy. Ushers were Don Grant, Brandy Illerbrun, Dave Gloeckler and Darcy Faucher. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current, SK. Leo Pritchard, Neil Kosior, Ron Palecek, Lee Gates, Dion Newton and Mike Funk served as acting pallbearers. Marjorie is survived by her children: Greg (Cathy) Illerbrun, Shelley (Dwight) Newton, Jeffrey (Monica) Illerbrun and Stacy (Chris) Robertson; grandchildren: Shawna, Brandy, Calli, Dawna, Deairra, Dion, Darci, Cody, Charli, Caelie, Shaylyn, Brady and Kaitlyn; brothers: Ernie, Malcolm (Adele), Gordon (Jeannette) and Garry (Elaine); sister-in-law: Willa-Mae and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Caroline Donald; husband Donald Illerbrun; brother Marvin; sister-in-law Eileen; grandparents George and Rose Koch and niece Carol Donald. Marjorie was born on September 29, 1931 in Wadena, SK. On July 21, 1955, she married the love of her life, Donald Illerbrun at the United Church in Kelvington, SK. Marjorie started her working career in Kelvington as a nurses aid, later transferring to the Swift Current Union Hospital. She was a member of the Grace United Church and served on various committees within the church. She was also a member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, cooking, camping and gardening. She enjoyed attending church, looking at photographs and being with her family, especially at Christmas and birthdays. Like her mother before her, Marge made sure that everyone received a Christmas gift. For her, Christmas shopping started on December 26, for the following year. She was very proud of her family and never missed an opportunity to express it with a small gift or a hug.
