MYERS - William "Bud" Franklin, aged 81 years, of Swift Current, SK passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Bud was born July 30, 1928 on the family farm (Sec. 32, Tp. 9, Rge. 9, W. 3rd Mer.) near Hazenmore, SK. He married Sheila Robson on October 23, 1954 at Morse, SK. He owned and operated Chinook Earthmoving Ltd. Bud's interests included reading, attending rodeos, visiting family and friends, going for coffee at Tim Hortons, and doing chores at the farm. He enjoyed spending lots of time with his 12 grandchildren and was always interested in what they were doing. Bud is survived by his wife Sheila Myers; daughters Karen Myers, Florence (Greg) Zinck, Debra (Dave) McCullough, Gwen (Bradley) Paul, Darlene Myers, Melissa Myers (Jamie Ritchie); son Trent (Jeanne) Myers; grandchildren Lisa (Ryan Mahony) Myers, Keri (Brad) Nelson, Jodi Zinck, Brenden (Carissa Fichter) Myers, Devon McCullough, Kyli Zinck, Christine Paul, Ryan McCullough, Brock Myers, Alyssa Paul, Chance Myers, Jordan Myers; sisters Ora Janzen, Betty Senicar; sisters-in-law Yvonne Myers, Martha Robson, Jane Robson, Pat (Art) Davidson; brother-in-law Jerry McCallum, Fred (Mary) Robson. Bud was predeceased by his parents William and Elva Myers; father-in-law Jack Robson, mother-in-law Janet Robson; sisters Lily McCallum, Eliza McLean; brothers Norman Myers, Roy Myers; brothers-in-law Charlie McLean, Stanley Senicar, Ben Janzen, Don Robson, Lyle Robson, Robert (Pearl) McBlain. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from the Credit Union I-Plex with (niece)Lenora Bells officiating. The soloist was Larry Jaster, eulogist was (niece) Cheryl Ofstie, ushers were (grandsons) Brenden Myers and Devon McCullough. Pallbearers were (Nephews) Dwayne Senicar, Cliff Janzen, Brad McCallum, Jack Keays, Chuck Myers and Dalton Robson, with the honorary pallbearers being all his grandchildren. Interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Memorial donations can be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
