NEW GLASGOW – George Frederick Field, 80 of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Stellarton, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in the manor.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Bedford and Elizabeth (Walton) Field.
George was a resident of the manor for the past three years or so having previously resided at Maple Crest Apartments in Stellarton.
He was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, as well as Branch 28 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy James, Stellarton; daughters, Debbie Bilodeau, Angus, Ontario; Karen Field, North Brook, Ontario; sons:, George, Ontario; Randy, Alberta; Rob, Stoney Creek, Ontario; and Gordie, Clinton, Ontario; a step-son, Tim Lane, Mississauga; a step-daughter, Brenda Lane, Sutton, Ontario; and grandchildren; a sister, June (Doug) Waddell, Sable Beach, Ontario; a brother, Bob (Betty) Field, Ontario; an aunt, Vera Atkinson, New Glasgow; his best friend and cousin, Douglas Ince; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Terry Field.
Cremation to take place. There will be no visitation or service at the request of the family. A private family committal service will be held at a later date in the Duff Cemetery, New Glasgow.
