Passed away surrounded by his loving family, Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
John was born in Sydney and was the son of the late Raymond and Frances (Wludyka) Baker.
John is survived by his wife, Judy (Pratt) of 37 years; two sons, John (Leigh-Anne), New Waterford, Dwayne, Sydney; three grandchildren, Jannie, Carson and Gavin. John is also survived by seven brothers, Richard (Janet), Raymond (Sharon), Ed (Katie), Michael (Lynn), Kenny (Yvonne), Henry (Donna), Gary (Shelly); seven sisters, Lorraine, Shirley (John), Elaine (George), Rosanne (Gary), Loretta (John), Darlene (Michael) and Janet.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28 at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with a reception to follow.
Donations may be made to Hospice Palliative Care Unit of the CBRH or the VON of Cape Breton.
