Passed away suddenly but peacefully at his residence on Monday, May 14, 2012, John 'Jack' Rose Sr. of Harbour Grace, age 77 years. Predeceased by wife: Edith; parents: Michael and Bertha; brothers: Allan, Tom and Joe; sisters: Mary 'Mollie' McCarthy; Frances White and Kathleen Shea. Left to mourn, two daughters: Margaret (John) Merrigan, Harbour Grace and Brenda (Herman) Miller, Mississauga, ON; five sons: Jack (Christine), David (Bernice), Tom (Bridget), Bill (Donna) and Philip, all of Harbour Grace; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Theresa (Dan) Neil, Harbour Grace and Mildred (Don) Hunt, Shearstown; very special friend: Winnie White, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Fr. John Peddle conducted the Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 17 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Donations in his memory may be made to the NL Diabetes Association.
