It is with deep sadness that the family of Martha (Marty) Mahaffey announces her sudden passing on May 5, 2012.
Marty is survived by her loving husband Robert, daughters Lisa Mahaffey and Darcy Mortensen (Kim), granddaughters Leena and Siena, mother Effie Swaffield, brother Ken Swaffield (Henny), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is pre deceased by her father George Swaffield and brother Doug Swaffield.
Born September 14, 1942 in Vancouver, British Columbia where she spent her early years. She later moved to Prince George, North Vancouver, and finally to Lillooet where she raised her family. Marty was a devoted wife, mother, and friend and will be sadly missed.
At this time, the family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and physicians at Lillooet Health Site for all their care, support and kindness during Marty’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. There will be no service at Marty’s request.
