Lillian Stevens passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, N.S.
She was born January 9, 1923, to the late Jordan and Annie-May Crowley of Brookland Avenue, Sydney Mines. She later moved to Sydney and then to the Balls Creek area.
Lillian was married to the late Arthur ‘Art’ Stevens of Sydney for 62 years.
She is survived by four children, Brent (Estelle) of Balls Creek, Noreen (Earl Gallant) of Sydney, Murray (Martina) of Lower Sackville, N.S., Pauline (Stephane Moreau) of Montreal, Que.; eight grandchildren, Dawn, Kevin, Corette, Melanie, Kyle, Kaitlyn and Adriana and also two great-grandchildren, Mark-Anthony and Aspen.
Lillian was predeceased by her sisters, Jean (the late Gordon Burke), Sydney, Gertie (the late Alex Miller) of Ontario and a brother, Charles (Wynita), also of Ontario.
The family wish to especially thank the staff at Wentworth, Kenwood, of Harbourstone Enhanced Care for the excellent care, attention and kindness shown to our mother over the last five years.
At Lillian’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 786 Alexandra St., Sydney.
