Gerald Murray MacLellan


MacLellan, Gerald Murray – Upper Musquodoboit, passed away May 18, 2012, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in Tatamagouche, on July 23, 1929, he was a son of the late Willis and Edith (Swan) MacLellan.
His career began in Tatamagouche, working for Canadian National Railway, as a ticket agent. He retired 35 years later, in Upper Musquodoboit, as a station agent. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Surviving are children, Gail (Bruce) Holman, David (Kenda), both of Truro; Gary (Therese), Moncton, N.B.; Cindy (Sheldon) Deyarmond, Truro; grandchildren Devin, Shane (Krista), Laura (Mike), Emily, Michael (Beth), Daniel, Will, Monica, Benjamin, Jared, Olivia; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Mason.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Alward; son, Dean; brother, Kenneth.
Visitation will be Sunday, 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Monday, at 2 p.m., both in St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit, Rev. Michael Henderson and Bill Thomas officiating. Burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will meet friends downstairs in the church following the committal.
Memorial donations may be made to Q.E.11 Health Foundation – Neurology Department, I.W.K. Health Foundation or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
