It is with profound sorrow that the family of the late Raymond Delorey, 59, of Larry’s River, N.S., wish to announce his sudden and unexpected passing on May 18, 2012.
Raymond’s life ended at work, some thing he did everyday with great pride and huge accomplishment. Raymond was a gifted businessman, no task was ever too great, and obstacles were mere subtleties. Raymond’s wealth of knowledge cannot be expressed in words, his thought processes and unique engineering abilities will never be matched. His work ethic something not often seen, strong in body and wise in spirit.
Raymond’s career in the construction industry offered him the opportunity to make many acquaintances, many becoming long lasting, and highly valued friendships. Raymond Delorey Dozing & Trucking employed many over the years, with Raymond always the mentor, friend and often father figure.
Raymond was a family man, much loved and highly respected. He and his wife Karen blended their families many years ago and went on to ensure the same values were instilled in their children.

Raymond is survived by sisters, Gertie Murphy, Falmouth; Mary Edna (Dave Avery), Dora (Neri Cormier), Yvonne (Dennis O’Neill), Larry’s River; Margaret (Raymond Bellefeuille), Gentilly. Family also left to mourn are Karen’s siblings, Sylvia, Carl, Melvin, Gerard, Priscilla, Myron, Ken, Beth, Dr. Lorne and Adrian.
Raymond was the son of the late Frank and Mamie (Gerrior) Delorey, predeceased by brothers, Peter and Joseph.
Raymond was a giving man, true to his community and St. Peter’s parish. Raymond never turned away a person in need, no matter the time of day or the size of the task. Much of Raymond’s life was spent doing for others, a true humanitarian. Those who had the honour to be touched in some way by his energetic spirit or handsome boyish grin will forever feel this loss.
