David passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Alder Point, he was the son of the late Leander and Elizabeth (MacLean) LeBlanc.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann (Rose); his children, Marianne (Jimmy), Cheryl (Bernie), Kim (Adam) and Brenda (Sheldon). He was a loving grandfather to Candace, Joel, Heidi, Adam Troy and Kasi and a loving great-grandfather to Haley and Chase. Also surviving are his sister Patsy; his brothers, George (Betty), John (Gwenn) and Eddie (Bernadette); his sister-in-law, Anna and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Lois and her husband Nick Howell, his brother, Alvin and his brother-in-law, Phil Warren.
David loved to play darts at the legion, fire hall and pensioners club in Sydney Mines.
Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or. A reception will follow at the Sydney Mines Seniors & Pensioners Club.
