passed away on May 20, 2012, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 46 years. He leaves to mourn his loving spouse, Peggy Matchim; dear brother Dr. Hooman Ahrar (Emilia Sadeghi Ahrar); mother Jaleh Daroogar Ahrar and extended family. Predeceased by his father Dr. Ali Ahrar, Aryan also leaves to mourn a wide network of good friends and work colleagues, as well as his loving in-laws, Ford and Marina Matchim; Roxanne Matchim Brown (Glenn, Paige and Riley); Leslie Matchim (Angie, Julia and Kate); Greg Matchim (Paula and Darby); and his adoring little canine buddy, Sumo. At this sad time, those of us who knew and loved Ary are reflecting on his very full life and some of the many passions he shared with us, including world travel, golf, good food, his work in the oil & gas industry and of course, automobiles. He will be remembered for his strength, generosity, humour, civility and gentle spirit. As per Aryan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of his life this Friday, May 25th at Barrett’s Funeral Home at 328 Hamilton Avenue. This will include visitation with family and friends from 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., followed by a short remembrance ceremony beginning at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Aryan’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Department of the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre or the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. Aryan and his loved ones were extremely appreciative of the high quality of care he received at both.
