
William Dupuis
DUPUIS, WILLIAM - William Dupuis passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on May 22, 2012 at the age of 100. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Born on April 21, 1912 in Vermont, he was the son of the late Sam and Margaret (Gauvin) Dupuis. A Master Stone Masson, he was the proprietor of Dupuis Monuments, Shediac for over 30 years. He was a retired Second Lieutenant with the Royal Canadian Air Force, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33 Shediac and past president of the Caisse Populaire de Shediac. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday at the Boishebert Club in Shediac attended by over 250 family and friends. He loved the sport of boxing, fishing and spending happy winters in Florida with his wife and family. He leaves behind his loving and dedicated wife of 73 years, Rosie (Babineau); eight children: Juanita, Alex (Lucie), Florence (late Omer Goguen), Thomas (Carmella), Claire, Claudette, Bernice (John Shaw) and Rachel (Bob Poirier); two sisters: Viola and Irene; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.
By request there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church in Shediac, on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. In memory of William, a contribution to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Cremation and Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Shediac (532-3297).
