Ben Michael Nathanson died suddenly in Florida on May 27, 2012.
Son of Minnie Nathanson and the late Alf Nathanson of 184 Park St., Sydney.
Survived by his loving wife, Valerie; loving daughter, Talia; brother, Irwin (Joan), Vancouver; sister, Judy (Dave), Dundas, Ont.; loving stepdaughters, Shauna and Tracey; three grandchildren.
Educated at Sydney Academy, Dalhousie (BA), University of Alberta (BEd). Taught school in Edmonton and at international schools in Mexico, China and Belize.
Affectionately known as “Mr. Ben,” he had gifts for everyone — gifts of friendship; kind words; warm greetings to all and to children especially — love, time, patience, kindness, respect, dedication and hard work.
Services will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Temple Sons of Israel, Whitney Avenue.
Memorial service celebrating Ben’s life for family and friends on Friday, June 1 from 2-4 p.m. at 184 Park St., Sydney.
