Doreen (nee Gushue) Hogan
Date de décès : 28 mai 2012
Born in Brigus, Newfoundland. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have had their lives touched by our precious mother, Doreen Hogan, are now mourning her peaceful passing. Our mother was predeceased by her husband James D. Hogan; her parents Edith and Leonard Gushue; her brothers: Bart and Harold Gushue and sisters: Florence Duffett, Jessie Moulton and Gladys Moran. Our mother holds a special place in the hearts and memories of her children: Jimmy, Mary Walsh (Trevor), Fred Roberts (Christine), Lark Sullivan (Gerald); grandchildren: Jamie, Jessica, Janessa, Jennifer Murphy, Tara Roberts Donio (Jason and Sophia), Janelle and Grant Roberts, Riley Sullivan; brothers: Leonard Gushue (Ruth); sisters: Lillian Percy, Mary Lush, Violet Sparks (Noah), Jean Divazzio (Frank); sisters–in–law: Agnes Trainor, Geraldine Hogan, Dulcie Hogan, Mary Hogan, Marjorie Gushue and special friend Anna Keough. Through her outstanding advocacy for the mentally challenged our mother was highly recognized for her dedication and commitment on the Board of Directors at the Vera Perlin Society. Her strength of character, compassionate spirit, personal faith and her devotion to our brother Jimmy has demonstrated to all of us that one’s potential can be reached when given our mother's unique qualities. She also contributed to her community as an active member of the Central Fire Station’s ladies auxiliary. It is evident by the outpouring of love and affection, during her period of illness that there are many people who live more enriched lives simply by having had her in their presence. Special thanks go out to all those who have provided support and kindness during this time. In particular Dr. Susan King, Dr. Lockyer and the staff at Palliative Care. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 noon – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. A Celebration of life Service will be held from St. Teresa’s Parish, 120 Mundy Pond Road on Thursday, May 31st, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
