Mingo, Marion E. – Truro. It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Elizabeth Mingo announce her passing on Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, due to complications from C.O.P.D. Born in Pictou on October 5, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Elizabeth Hendrican. She resided in Truro all her married life and worked at Stanfields and later at the Palliser Motel. Special thanks to all her “3rd floor friends” at 350 Robie Street where she resided. She loved bingo, and had great fun playing the guitar and the spoons with her family and friends. Marion is survived by her brother, Tom “Dec” Hendrican, Ottawa, Ontario; sister, Patsy, Truro; five daughters, Barbara (Gordon), Teresa (Rod), Karen (Ron), all of Truro; also, daughters Cindy (Willie), London, Ontario; Penny (future son-in-law Dan), Halifax; grandchildren, Brian, John, Carla, Matthew, Erin, Robert, Corey, Jeff and Sonya; nine great-grandchildren, Brooke, Katelyn, Niya, Makayla, Dominick, Riley, Trent, Michael and Kyla; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marion was predeceased by her husband John, three sisters and four brothers. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the 4th floor ICU and the Emergency Department of Colchester Regional Hospital, for the special care Marion received while she was a patient there. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31st from 1pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Watson Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
