MacDonald, Leora Louise Jane - 78, Amherst, formerly of Port Howe, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the Halifax Infirmary (QE II), Halifax. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Roy Albert and Mabel Pearl (Crossman) Mason. Leora is survived by daughters, Wendy (Richard) White, Port Howe; Maxine O’Neil (Tim Jess), Elmsdale; son, Mark MacDonald, Westchester; grandchildren, Jody White, Richard (Jenn) White; Cody O’Neil (Jason); Lisa O’Neil (Jeremy); Shae-Lynn MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Travis White; Lenny and Jimi Moore; sister, Madge Gagnon, Amherst; brother, Ben (Hazel) Mason, Gambo, Newfoundland; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Fraser Maxwell MacDonald; sisters, Audrey Rushton, Hazel Cole, Doreen Warham, Christina Lyons, Betty Rogers, Alberta Toderick; brother, Wilbur Mason. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday, June 2, in the Port Howe Cemetery. Rev. Connie McNamara officiating.
