SMITH, SHEILA - 1931-2012 - Bay du Vin, N.B.: Sheila Smith, wife of Donald Smith of Ronnie Lane, Bay du Vin, passed away at her residence, on Thursday, May 31, 2012 following a brief illness, at the age of 81. Born in Burnley, Lancashire, England, on March 20th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Edith (Atherton) Tomlinson. She was a homemaker and weaver as well as a former home care worker . She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin; a member of the A.C.W. and a member of the Miramichi Bay South Side Heritage Society. She is survived by her husband, Donald, of Bay du Vin; three daughters, Venita Edmondson (John), of England, Lorraine Seminuk (Keith), of Calgary, AB., Maria Williston (Stephen Blackston), of Bay du Vin; six grandchildren, Michelle (Dustin), Richard (Kinga), Sarah, James, Karren, Venita and a step-grandson, Logan Seminuk; three great grandchildren, Priya, Miya and Jensen MacDonald; and one Step-great granddaughter, Autumn Seminuk. Nephew, Peter (Noelle) Smith & niece Glenis Clare.
By her request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A public funeral service will be held from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin, on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, conducted by the Venerable Richard Steeves and Rev. Robert Barry. Interment will be in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Extra Mural Nursing Program, St. John the Evangelist Church, or any charity of the donors’ choice, would be appreciated by the family.
