A Card of Thanks
The family of John D MacIntyre would like to extend our gratitude to everyone for their support during the brief illness and passing of John. Your kindness and generosity helped us tremendously through our difficult time and was greatly appreciated. John considered family and friends to be one of the most important things in life, so he would have been honoured by the gifts of food and time. The mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolences, and the generous charitable donations in his name would have made John proud. Thank you for the stories and memories, they will be cherished. A special thank you to the people of John’s home community Lingan and surrounding area that brought food to the family home and to the reception at Lingan hall. John’s funeral mass at Mount Carmel Church was a wonderful celebration of his life with bagpipe music by John Grant, fiddle and keyboard music by Jennifer Roland and Jason Kempt, and of course the beautiful Mount Carmel choir. The prayers and words of tribute by Fr. Doug MacDonald and the participation of concelebrants of the mass Fr. Gerry Currie, and John’s brother, Fr. Doug MacIntyre made the mass a moving and special ceremony for the family. For a number of years John was cared for Cape Breton Home Care and the family want to say thanks, particularly to his special friends Ray Doucet and Jim King. A heartfelt thank you to the staff and especially the ICU nurses and doctors of the C.B. Regional and Glace Bay General Hospitals. Thank you to Dr. Rose MacKay who provided John’s initial care and Dr. Kevin MacNeil who cared for John with compassion until his passing. A sincere thanks to MacLellan Brothers funeral home for their caring and kindness in helping the family honour John with love and respect.
