With great sadness the family of James Knee announces his unexpected passing on May 22, 2012 in Fredericton, NB. Born on February 14, 1922 in Badger’s Quay, NL, he lived and worked in Port-aux-Basques for many years.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn (Rodgers), in 1978; his second wife, Shirley (Fowlow) in 2010; his parents, Edgar George (Julia Anne Oldford) Knee; and his sister, Sarah (Jacob, deceased) Hunt. He is survived by his son, James (Molly) Knee St. John’s, NL; daughters, Carol (Dave) Blacklock of New Maryland, NB, and Judy (Harry) Coates of Millville, NL; two grandsons, Brian (Kristi)Tong of Brampton, ON, and James Knee of Calgary, AB; two granddaughters, Julia Coates (Ron Laudadio) of Mississauga, ON, and Helena Coates of London, UK; two great grandchildren, Katrina and Brendan Tong; his sister, Daisy (George, deceased) Starkes of Badgers Quay, NL; step-daughter, Claudia (Jim) Friesen of Parksville, BC and step-granddaughter Melanie (Mike) Nielsen of Victoria, BC.

The funeral service was held at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton on May 25, 2012, presided over by the Rev. Canon John Sharpe. Cremation followed; internment took place on May 26 at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
