CUNNINGHAM, Kathryn Elizabeth “Kay” – 84, of Cape Forchu, Yarmouth Co., passed away on June 4, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 1, 1927 in Woods Harbour, Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Hartley and Elizabeth (Crowell) Nickerson. Kathryn was a member of the Pembroke Seniors Club. She was previously employed by Forchu Fisheries. She is survived by daughters, Judy Bain, New Minas; Janice (Larry) Doucette, South Ohio; sons, Grant (Lillian) Cunningham, Cape Forchu; Barry Cunningham, Cape Forchu; sister, Zella Malone, Woods Harbour; as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Herbert; brothers, Aubrey, Keith, Albert “Lab” and Lockland “Lukie”; sisters, Gertrude Mood, Adelaide Carey and Hazel Cameron. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service was held Thursday, June 7 at 11 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
