SMITH, Mary Loretta "Lorie"- of Lake Echo passed away June 5, 2012 at Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage. Born in Sydney, Cape Breton she was a daughter of the late Peter and Annie (Bartlett) Power. Lorie was a long time member of the Truro St. Andrew's Society. She is survived by son Robert (Jane) Power, Lake Echo; daughters Sheila Smith, Toronto; Sharon (Andrew Young) Smith, Ottawa; step children Elizabeth (Ed) Van Norden, Dartmouth; Janette (Douglas) Cramb, Scotland; Edwin Smith, Scotland; Colleen (Stewart) Stevenson, England; grandchildren Carolyn (James) Marlow, Lake Echo; Robert Wayne Power, Thailand; Cailin Winters-Power, Halifax; great grandchildren Jonathan and Kendra Marlow, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Benjamin Edwin Smith and sister Eileen Tomko. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
