JOAN EILEEN LAVELL (TAYLOR) passed away on December 20, 2009. Survived by her daughters Diane (Skip) Ratel and Debbie (Norm Siren) Lavell; brother Allan (Shirley) Taylor and sister Linda (Larry) Chester; grandson Todd Martin; 3 great-grandchildren and many more family and friends who will miss her dearly. Joan was born in Prince Albert, SK on February 20,1929. She was married to her husband Clayton Lavell from 1950 until his passing in 2003. Joan traveled with her husband; who was playing professional hockey; and started a family before she went on to begin her own career in the telephone industry beginning in Calgary with Alberta Government Telephones then moving to Kelowna and later retiring from BC TEL (TELUS) as Area Operator Services Manager. Joan spent the last few years in Powell, BC where she was close to her daughters. Joan had a great zest for life and will be fondly remembered by those who knew her.
